Equal Opportunities Policy
Meljon Singers equal Opportunities
The Meljon Singers is an amateur organisation in the British choral tradition with a repertoire drawn from Western classical music.
Membership is of necessity limited in terms of musical ability, voice quality, member commitment to rehearsals and the need to maintain a balanced choir and perform to a high standard. Within these constraints the Meljon Singers operates a policy of equal opportunity and does not discriminate on the grounds of race, culture, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability, and will make reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of people with disabilities, where necessary. The Meljon Singers also takes into account issues surrounding access at our rehearsal site and all performance venues.
With reference to tours in the UK or abroad, any members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We offer tickets at a reduced rate for all advance ticket sales, free concert tickets for those under the age of 18 and reduced membership fees for both the young and unwaged.
Responsibility for ensuring compliance with this policy lies with the elected committee. Both singing and audience members are invited to contact any member of the organisation should assistance be required.
